🚨📥 📝 TL;DR New Advisory Group for the 16th annual Klein News Innovation Camp Sat. Nov. 8 in Philadelphia, with a special focus on welcoming news creators and other information providers! 🚨📥 📝
16 years ago, Sean Blanda and I were “creators” — insurgent, independent “bloggers” who were gathering and distributing news differently. Few took us seriously. So we hosted an unconference to bring together independent creators with more traditional information providers to share and learn.
For the 16th year led by Technical.ly, we return Saturday, Nov. 8 with a new location on Temple University’s Main Campus in Philadelphia, and a return to our roots: a daylong, accessible unconference for journalists, creators and info providers.
To hasten this refresh, welcoming news creators and information providers of every stripe (advocacy, industry, marketing, data services), we have our first ever advisory group!
Every single year, this event has been hosted by and made possible by Temple’s Klein College of Media and Communication, thank you!
Here’s our first-ever advisory group:
- Adriana Lacy (Influencer Journalism)
- Calan The Artist (independent creator!)
- Danya Henninger (news provider, Technically editorial director)
- Liz Kelly Nelson (Project C)
- Nina Sachdev (Media Impact Funders)
- Sean Blanda (Gate Check Studios)
- David Boardman (Temple’s interim Provost, Klein dean and longtime steward)
This wouldn’t be possible without Temple help from Donna M. Lamborne and Dawn Ramos!
